Great! Now I Have A Headache, Too!

I think I am a pretty easy-going person; not much annoys me, but when it does, it really does.Take, for example, the Aleve commercials. They start out with an ordinary person going through an ordinary day, except that the day includes arthritis pain. I get that if you have pain, you're going to want something to take it away or at least make it a little more bearable.

So these commercials have the ordinary person starting their day, discovering that they have the pain, and taking up to 6 pills (read: Tylenol) to relieve said pain. I have no problem with that; I do it myself. What I do have a problem with is the slurpy noise being made when the pills are taken and washed down with coffee, water, or what-have-you. Do I really need sound effects here? Seriously, I doubt that everyone slurps like that when they drink something! And even if they do, I don't need to hear it.

I Think I Just Coined A New Word

I seriously need to find better things to do with my time. I just spent the last twenty minutes looking up bands from Canada--or, as I like to call them, "Banadas"--on Wikipedia. The list is long...there are 1,232 of them (give or take). God knows how many others there are that Wikipedia doesn't know about.

Of these 1,232 "Banadas", I am familiar with 32 of them. Of those 32, 8 of them are on my media player: Bachman-Turner Overdrive, Default, Finger Eleven, Nickelback, Simple Plan, State of Shock, Theory of a Deadman, and Three Days Grace. This is what I do all day. I seriously need to find better things to do with my time. Or maybe get a job as a statistician...

Crash and Burn Before Takeoff

I shouldn't have expressed so much excitement at the prospect of going to visit the town  where James Dean is buried. Literally minutes after I posted about going to Indiana this week and taking a road trip from where I would be staying to where James Dean is buried, I got a text from my daughter's friend saying that she was in way too much pain from her surgery to tolerate guests even if they were there to help out, and could we reschedule for maybe next week? Well, I could, but my daughter can't. So. The trip has been canceled. That is my life in a blog post. One minute I'm all worked up about something, and the next fate picks me up by the collar and throws me into a brick wall. Little does life know that I bought a hammer and chisel....

Once in a Lifetime

So. I am going to Indiana with my daughter this week to visit a friend of hers who just had surgery. I wasn't going to go because of school, but I caught up on all of my assignments and spring break starts next week anyway, so I figured heck, why not live a little? And then I found out that the friend lives an hour and forty five minutes north of Fairmount. Where James Dean is buried.

For those of you who don't know, I have been obsessed with James Dean for a good five years now. If I passed on this trip, it is very highly unlikely that the opportunity will come along again. And I would kill myself. Not really, but you know what I mean.
